Forward Madison FC is raising money for local pandemic relief efforts with a new set of team-themed face masks, the club announced Wednesday. The Flamingos will donate a portion of proceeds from sales to the United Way of Dane County’s COVID-19 Emergency and Recovery Fund.
The non-medical masks are designed to resemble Forward Madison’s 2020 home jersey and 2019 alternate jersey. The former features sky blue scallops cut through by a white sash, while the latter shows off the wild pink pattern that won an award for the best jersey in the world.
The CDC recommends using cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies) to slow community transmission of coronavirus.
The masks are expected to ship in a 2-3 week timeframe.
