A crowd gathered for the soccer announcement at Breese Stevens Field in Madison on Thursday
Vern Stenman, president of Big Top Baseball, , announced on Thursday that professional soccer is coming to Breese Stevens Field in Madison.

Conor Caloia, chief operating officer of Big Top Baseball, said of Breese Stevens Field, "This is a community facility, and we really want the community to really make this facility what they want it to be."

Peter Wilt is a veteran soccer executive and will manage Madison Pro Soccer. Wilt most recently co-founded the National Independent Soccer Association.
"We're building this from the bottom up. It's going to be Madison's team. It's the world's game, but this will be Madison's team," said Peter Wilt, managing director of Madison Pro Soccer.
Soccer fans were supportive of the game coming to Breese Stevens Field in Madison.
