Forward Nazeem Bartman Returns To Forward Madison FC For The Third Season
MADISON, WI: Forward Madison FC has re-signed the 30-year-old forward Nazeem Bartman, pending league and federation approval. The South African native will stay with Forward Madison FC for the third consecutive season, after contributing the third-most goals for the club (5) in 31 appearances.
As only one of four returning players from the 2022 season, Bartman led the offense with versatility and creativity in the attack. Last season the 5-foot-7 striker made 27 starts and finished with 24 chances created, 31 shots, and 3 assists. Last season, Bartman became the third-highest goalscorer in club history logging 10 total goals for the ‘Mingos.
“Naz has been with me since I arrived in 2022 and has proven to be a steady player in USL League One,” said Head Coach Matt Glaeser. “He can play as a 9, false 9, and winger which we value from a versatility standpoint. He’s quick and clever in combination play and movement and helps us in ball progression with his awareness. We expect him to be a solid contributor again in 2024.”
Before joining FMFC, Bartman began his playing career in the USL PDL with the Michigan Bucks in 2013 and eventually transferred to the University of South Florida two years later. An impressive final season propelled Bartman to be selected by the Vancouver Whitecaps FC as the 73rd overall pick in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft.
In his rookie season, Bartman made 13 appearances and scored one goal with the Whitecaps second squad. Bartman played for multiple lower-division American clubs before landing with the Chicago House AC in 2021, where he tallied three goals in five games with the club.
The ‘Mingos will play their first home match of the season on Saturday, April 13th against Henny Derby rivals, Richmond Kickers. Season tickets for the 2024 Forward Madison season are on sale now. Secure your seats to every match, including the Home Opener, here.
