Dear Forward Madison Season Ticket Holders,
I hope this finds you and your family safe and healthy. This has been an unprecedented seven weeks for our community and beyond. I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you everything I know about a potential season, our ticketing policies and procedures and where we go from here as a Forward Madison family. As you can imagine, the information changes quickly, but I thought it was important for you to hear directly from the Club at this time.
The Governor’s “Safer at Home” orders currently run through May 26. Therefore, we will be unable to do any organized team practices or matches in advance of that date. Our players continue to train individually. I want to recognize our team for staying safe during the COVID outbreak. We have yet to have a case tied to our players or staff. Our players are anxious to get back on the field and play in front of our great fans at Breese Stevens Field.
We understand we have not yet been able to deliver at least some of the matches you had planned to attend. With that being said, our hope is that we can work with you on a reasonable plan that maintains the value of your ticket and enables the Club to carry on for 2021 and beyond. Our hope is to provide season ticket holders with a credit for any 2020 matches that are not played for matches later in 2020 or towards any 2021 ticket package.
We have been in regular communication with Public Health Madison and Dane County to start mapping out a process for events returning to Breese Stevens Field. Furthermore, we participate in multiple calls every week with the USL to discuss returning to play. We have been very impressed with the USL’s preparedness and the various models they have developed to get as many League matches completed, if and when we are allowed to return to play this year. While the safety of our fans, players and staff is our primary concern, all options are on the table as it relates to collaborating with fellow USL League One Clubs to play as many matches as possible in 2020. We plan to have more clarity on what exactly this means by June 1.
As you likely realize, Forward Madison FC is solely dependent on the amazing support of its ticket buyers and corporate partners. The viability of the Club is directly tied to the community’s support of the Club. The support of our fans locally and beyond during this shutdown has been truly amazing. From beer pick-ups to charity initiatives, each week our fans have rallied as though it was a matchday at Breese Stevens Field. We are so grateful for your support during this time.
We know the current circumstances are not ideal for anyone. However, our hope is that we can work together to get through this virus and enjoy a Forward Madison FC match at Breese Stevens Field in the near future. I’d like to invite you to join a virtual town hall next week Wednesday, where I will answer additional questions and concerns that fans may have. We appreciate your continued support of the Club and feel free to reach out if you have any further questions: conor@bigstopse.com.
Please stay safe and we look forward to seeing you back on the pitch soon.
