Forward Madison FC released their 2023 Mingoverse Alternate Kit, ahead of their match against Lexington SC at Breese Stevens Field on Thursday night. The 3-D, fully reversible kit features designs that pop right off the jersey to those wearing 3-D glasses. The Mingoverse Alternate Kit is available now both in-store at Breese Stevens Field and online.
One side of the Mingoverse Alternate Kit features a black base with imagery like a cow, flamingo, beer stein, milk jug, and much more that reflect the Club and the state of Wisconsin. Blue and red outlines on the design help create a 3-D pattern that can be viewed with 3-D glasses or without. Flip the kit inside out and a red and blue pattern emerges, where a M.C. Escher-inspired design of flamingos flying can be seen.
“We all got together & started throwing out ideas that were unique to us and unique to soccer,” Forward Madison Creative Director Will Jenkins said. “One of the ideas thrown out was a potential 3D design. We all looked at each other and went, “…We’re about to do a 3D kit, aren’t we?“”
“I kind of had this Twilight Zone idea in my head, where you had all these different artifacts flying through space, but instead I wanted these objects near and dear to the club, the Madison community and state of Wisconsin. We ended up having a few designs that we were really passionate about. The start of this kit really just spawned off a lot of creativity amongst the group, which served as the fuel to keep pushing to ambitious & unique territories.”
Forward Madison wore the black side of the kit in the match against Lexington SC, with plans to wear the kit again later this season. The next home match for Forward Madison FC is on Saturday, July 8th at 7pm CT against Central Valley Fuego FC. Tickets for that match are available here.
