MADISON, WI: Forward Madison FC Head Coach Matt Glaeser has been awarded USL League One Coach of the Month for the month of June. In the midst of his second season with the club, Glaeser has led the Flamingos to first place with a record of 8-4-4. This is Glaeser’s first Coach of the Month honor.
After an up-and-down start to the 2023 USL League One campaign, the Flamingos entered the month of June in the middle of the table in need of points to climb their way up it.
In the month of June, Forward Madison won four straight matches, a club record. With massive wins against top clubs North Carolina FC and Richmond Kickers, Forward Madison reached the top of the standings for the first time in franchise history.
“I’m happy for the team to be recognized for the hard work everyone has contributed,” Glaeser said. “I’m extremely grateful to have a top group of coaches, players, and staff who have all stepped up and done an excellent job. We are determined to show the same resilience and togetherness moving forward to accomplish our goals for this season.”
Matt Gleaser and the entire Forward Madison squad is back in action this Saturday, July 15th at 6pm on the road in North Carolina. A free watch party is available to fans in the Forward Club at Breese Stevens Field. The team returns home for an international friendly match against Atlante FC on Thursday, July 20th at 7pm.
