Coaches:
Forward Madison FC (8-5-5)
Head Coach: Matt Glaeser
Greenville Triumph SC (8-4-6)
Head Coach: John Harkes
Key Players to Watch:
Bernd Schipmann: Schipmann is a very experienced player who brings composure to the back along with his very strong shot-stopping abilities. Making game-changing saves, we can expect to see Schipmann flying in the back, being a huge key to Forward Madison’s defense.
Jake Crull: Being a key member of the Flamingos’ defense, Crull brings composure and technique to the match. With his ability to remain calm and build out of the back, Crull often helps build up some of the ‘Mingos’ best attacking opportunities.
Aiden Mesias: Mesias brings energy and hard work into every match he plays. With his constant effort on both offense and defense, Mesias is noticeably outworking his opponents consistently. We can expect to see him as a spark in the midfield on Saturday.
Key Match-up:
Jayden Onen vs Allen Gavilanes
With Onen having four assists so far this season and Gavilanes having five, we will see these two assist leaders go head-to-head on Saturday night. With both playing crucial roles in their team’s midfield, we can expect an exciting battle of who can create the most chances for their respective offenses.
Keys to the Match:
- Composure in the box: With Forward Madison giving up a penalty kick last match against Greenville, it will be crucial to be smart in the box and not give up another opportunity like this. Being composed in the back will help teams be much more successful in the match.
- Aerial dominance on set pieces: Set piece opportunities can be game changers. Both teams will need to be strong and strategic defensively to prevent goal-scoring opportunities.
Previous and Next Match:
The Flamingos come into this match after a 1-4 loss at the hands of South Georgia Tormenta FC. Next up, the ‘Mingos will hit the road to face (ranking) Richmond Kickers at City Stadium on Saturday, August, 5th, at 6pm CT.
