Forward Madison FC Sign Congolese Veteran Footballer, Ferrety Sousa
MADISON, WI: Forward Madison FC has signed Ferrety Sousa for the 2024 season, pending league and federation approval. The defender played for Sacramento Republic FC during the 2023 USL Championship season, where he appeared in eight matches, had four starts, and one assist.
“Ferrety is a player that I have worked with in the past and brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and versatility to our team,” said Head Coach Matt Glaeser. “He is a proven winner in both USL League One and in the Championship who can play multiple positions across the backline and midfield. I’m excited to add his vibrant personality to our team and city as we push towards continued progression in 2024.”
Sousa was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo but moved to Raleigh, North Carolina where he spent most of his youth. He began his soccer career with the North Carolina FC U23 team, leading his squad to a USASA national championship in 2011.
