Forward Madison FC Announces 2024 International Friendly Against Tapatío
MADISON, WIS.- Forward Madison FC announced the club’s 2024 international friendly will be against C.D. Tapatío of Liga de Expansión MX on Tuesday, June 25th at 7pm CT. This friendly continues Forward’s commitment to playing an international friendly every season. Most recently, FMFC hosted Atlante F.C., another Liga de Expansión squad. FMFC has also hosted Mexican side Pumas Tabasco at Breese Stevens Field in 2022, as well as Mexican clubs Leones Negros and Atlético Morelia.
“We are excited to bring another international squad to Madison fans,” said Forward Madison COO and Owner Conor Caloia. “It’s an honor to welcome Tapatío to historic Breese Stevens Field and give our team extra minutes and competition this season. We know it will be a challenging, but enjoyable game for everyone.”
C.D. Tapatío was founded in 1973 and is the official reserve team of C.D. Guadalajara in Liga MX. The Mexican squad won the Clausura 2023 title and the Campeón de Campeones AP22-CL23 title of Liga de Expansión. Tapatío currently sits in tenth place with a record of 3-1-4.
