SETTING THE SCENE
After earning its longest unbeaten streak in club history with nine straight matches, Forward Madison FC hits the road to take on AC Boise on Saturday night. The last time Forward Madison took on the Idaho side, the Mingos put up an impressive 5-1 win in front of their home crowd. On Saturday, Forward will take the field as the away team for the first time in five matches and will look to continue the impressive momentum they’ve built at home.

MADISON, Wis. — Forward Madison FC earned its longest unbeaten streak in club history with nine straight after picking up a 2-0 win over Westchester SC at Breese Stevens Field on Saturday night.
The Mingos came out with intensity, clearly eager to extend their unbeaten streak, but Westchester SC matched the energy early with a high press and a disciplined back line. The opening 20 minutes featured an even share of possession, with both sides creating opportunities. Ryan Carmichael recorded a long-range effort in the 13th minute before forcing a save a minute later, as Roman Torres, Eddie Munjoma and Collin McCamy helped create dangerous attacking moments that narrowly missed finding the breakthrough.
The match shifted in the 20th minute when Westchester’s Bobby Pierre received his second yellow card and was sent off, leaving the visitors to play with 10 men. Forward Madison immediately looked to capitalize on the numerical advantage as Jackson Castro, Kerfalla Toure and Ryan Carmichael tested the Westchester goalkeeper. The Flamingos found the opener in the 32nd minute when Karamoko made his way past two Westchester defenders and the keeper to put the hosts on the board, 1-0. Two minutes later, Karamoko was in the right place to tap in a goal, almost doubling Madison’s advantage, but the strike was called offside. Late in the first half, Castro was clearly hunting for a goal, finding space for multiple attempts but was unable to capitalize before the break.
Madison continued to control the match in the second half, with JT Harms making key saves to preserve the lead, including a clutch stop in the 68th minute to deny a dangerous chance by Westchester. Midfielder Joshua Bolma ignited the attack off the bench, capitalizing off of quick transitions and nearly adding a tally of his own with back-to-back shots in the 77th minute, including one that struck the crossbar, while Ryan Carmichael continued searching for a goal with multiple attempts late in the half. The Mingos continued to power the attack off the bench when a long ball from AJ Edwards in the 86th minute found Stephen Annor Gyamfi, who was able to sneak the ball past the Westchester goalkeeper to double the hosts’ lead.
Harms earned his fifth clean sheet of the season with five saves on the night, helping preserve the Mingos 2-0 victory to end its home stint.
