LAST MATCH RECAP – MAD v ACB
MADISON, Wis. — Forward Madison FC saw its club-record unbeaten streak come to an end Saturday night, falling 2-1 to AC Boise, despite a second-half equalizer from AJ Edwards.
In the opening minutes, the Flamingos created early opportunities while trading possession with AC Boise, with JT Harms making a key one-on-one stop to keep the hosts off the scoresheet. Boise applied more pressure as the half progressed, but Madison’s defense held firm with several key clearances before the hosts finally broke through in the fifth minute of stoppage time to take a 1-0 lead into the break.
Boise came out quickly after halftime, but Harms continued to keep the Flamingos within striking distance, making a strong block on a corner in the 50th minute. Forward Madison began to find more of the ball and pushed higher up the field. A free kick from Kanyane found Kevin Carmichael, whose header narrowly cleared the crossbar. Just minutes later, Josh Bolma nearly caught the Boise goalkeeper off his line, but an AC Boise defender headed his effort away. The Flamingos continued to press in the attacking third, creating a flurry of opportunities in the 64th minute but unable to find the finishing touch. Madison’s pressure continued as the second half wore on, while Boise relied on its defense and counterattacking opportunities to threaten.
In the 72nd minute, Castro came up with a massive defensive play, blocking a Boise shot on goal and clearing the danger away. After sustained pressure from the Flamingos, the breakthrough finally came in the 83rd minute. AJ Edwards stepped up from distance and unleashed a powerful strike that found the back of the net, leveling the match at 1-1.
Four minutes later, a weak clearance from McCamy allowed Boise to regain possession, and Mayaka found the finish to put the hosts back in front, 2-1. Forward Madison continued to push until the final whistle. Hakim Karamoko drew a corner in the third minute of stoppage time, but the Flamingos couldn’t find the equalizer as Boise held on for the victory.
The result brings Forward Madison’s nine-match unbeaten streak to an end, with the Flamingos now turning their attention to their next challenge.
KEYS TO THE MATCH PRESENTED BY THE BURISH GROUP AT UBS
Check out the UBS Keys to the Match as the Mingos take on AC Boise:
- House Rules: The unbeaten streak may be over, but the home streak is still alive. The Flamingos haven’t lost a league match at Breese Stevens Field since August 2025 and are one of just two USL League One teams still unbeaten at home this season. Sitting fourth in the table and just two points behind first-place Union Omaha, the ‘Mingos will look to protect the Fortress and start a new unbeaten run Wednesday night.
- No Easy Ones: JT Harms has been a brick wall between the posts all season, and he was at it again in Boise with several key saves to keep the Flamingos within striking distance. With Greenville coming to town, Harms will look to put another lock on the goal and give Madison a chance to find all three points.
- Stay Sharp: Two late goals ultimately decided Saturday’s match. From defending set pieces to managing dangerous moments in transition, the Flamingos will need to stay locked in from the opening whistle through stoppage time.
