Matt Glaeser caps off a stellar July campaign with league award
MADISON, WI: Forward Madison FC head coach Matt Glaeser has been named Coach of the Month by USL League One for July. The ‘Gos played five matches during the month of July, winning all of them and outscoring their opponents 17-6. This is Glaeser’s fourth time winning the award, most recently in March to kick off the 2026 campaign.
“Our players have been outstanding, and our recent form is a reflection of their commitment, resilience, and belief in what we are building together. I’ve truly enjoyed working with this group of young men and watching them continue to grow both individually and collectively,” said Matt Glaeser.
Glaeser also recognizes the support staff as part of this incredible run. “I’d also like to recognize our technical and support staff for their tireless work, dedication, and willingness to keep pushing forward every day with a positive attitude. Matt Cairns, our Sporting Director, deserves particular recognition for the tremendous job he has done assembling this roster. The quality and thoughtfulness of his work have been extremely impressive.”
The award exemplifies a dominant unbeaten run for the ‘Mingos, going 9 games without defeat. As the squad progresses into the second half of the season, they sit in prime playoff position, with a late run being crucial to hosting a playoff match for the first time since 2024.
“Ultimately, we still have a great deal of work ahead of us to reach where we want to be at the end of the season. We’ll continue to approach each week with the same commitment and focus, striving to be our best and to continue improving every day,” explained Glaeser on the team’s run of fixtures ahead. The team looks to remain undefeated at home this season in USL League One play heading into tonight’s matchup at 7 PM with Greenville Triumph SC, who currently sit in 14th place.
