MADISON, Wis. — Forward Madison FC announced today that midfielder, Kage Romanshyn Jr., has been recalled by Minnesota United FC 2 ahead of the club’s upcoming match this weekend.
Romanshyn Jr. joined Forward Madison FC on loan from Minnesota United FC 2 for the 2026 season after signing with the club in 2024. He logged 309 minutes across 10 appearances for the Flamingos this season, including one start in USL League One play. The recall comes as Minnesota United FC 2 prepares for its Saturday evening match, with Romanshyn Jr. expected to rejoin the club ahead of the weekend.

The Flamingos return to Breese Stevens Field on Saturday, Aug. 22, for a highly anticipated matchup against Charlotte Independence on Back to School Night. Following last weekend’s road victory over Portland, Madison remains in third-place in the USL League One standings, setting up a top-three showdown against second-place Charlotte. The matchup features a battle between the league’s top defense and top attack, with Forward Madison boasting the fewest goals conceded in USL League One while Charlotte enters the match with the league’s top-ranked attack.
Forward Madison FC will also look to extend their impressive home form, having remained unbeaten in league play at Breese Stevens Field for a full year. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT as Madison looks to make another statement in front of the Flock.
