Ryan Carmichael made Saturday night even more memorable, breaking Forward Madison FC’s club record for most league goals scored in a single season.
With his 12th league goal of the season, Carmichael surpassed Derek Gebhard’s previous club record of 11 goals, etching his name at the top of the Flamingos’ single-season scoring list.
The record-breaking moment came during Carmichael Night at Breese Stevens Field, making the milestone even more fitting as the club celebrated its favorite duo. Carmichael’s goal came in the 84th minute against AV ALTA FC, doubling Madison’s lead and helping propel the Flamingos to a 3-0 victory.
The win was a historic one for Forward Madison beyond Carmichael’s record. The Flamingos officially clinched their spot in the USL League One Playoffs, securing their place in the postseason earlier than ever before in club history.
Now with the single-season scoring record in his name, Carmichael and the Flamingos turn their attention toward finishing in the top four and earning the right to host a playoff match at Fortress Breese.
