Forward Madison FC welcomes Spokane Velocity to Breese Stevens Field on Saturday, Sept. 26, with kickoff set for 5 p.m. CT as the Flamingos celebrate Hispanic Heritage Night and Family Night. Madison enters the matchup riding the momentum of a 3-0 victory over AV ALTA FC and a playoff spot clinched. With the postseason secured, Madison will look to stay in the top four and earn home-field advantage for the playoffs at Fortress Breese.

MADISON, Wis. — Forward Madison controlled the match from start to finish, maintaining possession and applying steady pressure to the AV ALTA FC defense. Eddie Munjoma opened the scoring in the 20th minute before Ryan Carmichael and Josh Bolma added second-half goals to secure a 3-0 victory and officially clinch Madison’s place in the USL League One Playoffs.
The Flamingos dominated possession throughout the opening 45 minutes and created consistent pressure in the attacking third. After generating an early opportunity in the third minute, Madison broke through in the 20th when R. Carmichael slipped a through ball to Munjoma, who finished to give the Flamingos a 1-0 lead.
R. Carmichael and Bolma nearly doubled the advantage in the 37th minute, but the AV ALTA goalkeeper denied the opportunity.
Forward Madison carried its momentum into the second half, with R. Carmichael and Claudel N’Goubou combining for a dangerous chance in the opening minutes. Colin McCamy remained strong defensively, making an important block in the 60th minute to preserve Madison’s clean sheet.
In the 84th minute, Bolma led a counterattack out of Madison’s defensive third and found Roman Torres, who played a through ball to R. Carmichael. R. Carmichael finished the opportunity for his 12th goal of the season, doubling Madison’s lead and setting a new Club record for goals scored in a single season.
Madison continued to threaten in stoppage time. Ben Augee directed the ball toward Bolma, who found the back of the net to seal the 3-0 victory.
The win capped a historic night at Breese Stevens Field. In addition to Carmichael establishing a new single-season scoring record, the Flamingos clinched a playoff berth earlier than ever before in Club history.
With the top eight teams advancing to the USL League One Playoffs, Madison’s focus now shifts toward finishing in the top four and earning the right to host a playoff match at Breese Stevens Field. Season Ticket Members will receive first access to tickets if the Flamingos secure a home playoff match.
