Match Action
MADISON, Wis. — Forward Madison FC closed out the 2026 regular season Saturday night at Breese Stevens Field with a 0-0 draw against perennial rival Union Omaha. In front of 4,324 fans, the two sides traded plenty of chances and breaks but could not find the breakthrough. The difference-maker on the night was Madison goalkeeper JT Harms, who turned in a great performance to keep Omaha off the board.
The Flamingos found some rhythm through quick combination play, as their one-two passing opened space in the first half. A sequence from Munjoma to Torres to R. Carmichael ended with a shot just over the bar, and Munjoma and Bolma linked up again in the 18th minute to work the ball into the box, though the final pass never quite connected.
Union Omaha pushed the offense, but JT Harms answered each time. He tipped away an effort on goal in the 20th minute, watched a shot skim over the crossbar a minute later, and made a diving stop in the 29th minute. In the 34th minute, Harms stopped a wide-open look at goal and then caught a cross to an unmarked attacker moments later.
Madison’s best chance of the first half came in the 42nd minute, when Roman Torres’ shot deflected just left of the post. On the ensuing corner kick, the cross came to Jaylen Shannon for a header pass to Karamoko, whose own header sailed over the crossbar. The teams went into the break level, 0-0.
The second half started just as aggressively, with Omaha’s #25 shown a yellow card right off the kickoff. In the 55th minute, a Forward Madison corner led to a header from Kevin Carmichael and a scramble between Ryan Carmichael and the Omaha keeper, with a foul called in the box.
Head coach Matt Glaeser turned to his bench in the 63rd minute, bringing on McCamy, N’Goubou, and Augee. These subs gave the squad fresh legs, and off the substitution came a pass from Castro to Augee in for a shot that was deflected for a corner. Castro and N’Goubou continued to force the Omaha keeper to work hard with shots on goal in the following minutes.
The final ten minutes were the most intense of the night. Kerfalla Toure was everywhere, clearing an Omaha corner kick and making one crucial tackle after another, including a huge sliding challenge to snuff out a breakaway. Madison came close to a winner when a sequence from Toure to Castro set up a Gyamfi header that rattled the crossbar, sparking a frantic free-for-all in the box.
With both benches on their feet and five minutes of stoppage time added, the Flamingos kept pressing on the offensive side. Jackson Castro gave a last-effort volley straight at the keeper in the 90th minute, but as tired legs set in on both sides, the final whistle confirmed a hard-fought 0-0 draw.
Disciplinary Summary
(’30) OMA – #6 Guediri – Yellow Card
(’37) FOR – #12 Torres – Yellow Card
(’45) OMA – #25 Klein – Yellow Card
