Forward Madison have signed former FC Edmonton defender Mele Temguia for the 2022 season! Temguia was born in Darmstadt, Germany before he moved to Montreal, Quebec at a young age. The center back’s soccer career began when Temguia joined Montreal Impact’s academy in 2011.
“I am looking forward to join[ing] the team and work[ing] hard to help the club and organization reach their goals and be part of success,” Temguia said.
Temguia spent four years with the Montreal Impact Academy before joining FC Montreal in 2015 in the USL. The defender spent two seasons with the club and made 22 appearances before signing with FC Cincinnati in 2017. Temguia played one game with Cincinnati before leaving to sign with Hume City FC in 2018.
With Hume City FC in the Australian NPL, Temguia made 11 appearances and scored his first professional career goal before leaving the team midway through the season. Later that season, Temguia linked up with Valentine Phoenix FC where he played in nine matches to finish out the year.
In 2019, Temguia returned to Canada, where he grew up, to join FC Edmonton in the Canadian Premier League. In his stint from 2019-2021 with Edmonton, Temguia managed to play in 53 games and he scored two goals to go along with an assist.
Temguia’s exceptional defensive skills could prove to be key this upcoming season. Expect to see a much improved pink and blue defense with Temguia joining the ranks!
