Forward Madison announced today the signing of 23-year-old midfielder Jesus “Chino” Perez who they get on loan from League of Ireland Premier Divison club Dundalk. He joins the Flamingoes as they look to make a playoff push in the second half of the season.
Perez, originally from Waukegan, Illinois, played college soccer at the University of Illinois at Chicago where he scored 14 goals in 55 appearances. While there, he also played for USL League Two club Chicago United FC where he scored nine goals in 30 appearances.
Perez was selected by New York City FC with the 22nd pick in the first round of the 2020 MLS SuperDraft and was included on the club’s preseason roster. He wasn’t retained by the club beyond preseason, instead of signing for Tacoma Defiance of the USL Championship in mid-February 2020. Pérez signed for League of Ireland Premier Division club Dundalk on the 26th February 2021. He made his debut for the club on the 26th March 2021.
