
Forward Madison drew its match 1-1 against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC on Saturday at CHI Memorial Stadium. Forward Noah Fuson, scored a first-half equalizer that kept the Flamingos in the game.
With this draw, Forward Madison sits in 9th place with 19 points in USL League One Standings.
The Red Wolves were competitive from the start, as José Carrera-Garcia put the team in the 1-0 lead with his goal in the sixth minute. Jonathan Esparza attempted to grow Chattanooga’s lead but his shot towards the right side of the box was saved by Forward Madison’s keeper Phil Breno.
Shortly after the Flamingos gained momentum. In the 34th minute Fuson equalized the match by scoring his second consecutive goal this season, off a header from the center box that was assisted by Derek Gebhard.
During the second half of the match, both teams fought back-and-forth to score, but neither team was able to take the lead.
In the 68th minute, Derek Gebhard scored off of Tyler Allen’s attempt at a through ball, but his goal was offside.
Later on In the 80th minute, Red Wolves’ Ronaldo Pineda tried a through ball, but Jonathan Ricketts is caught offside.
Forward Jake Keegan made one final attempt to pick up the three points with his blocked shot towards the left side of the box.
Following this draw, The Flamingos head down to Werner Park on Saturday, August 7 for their match against Union Omaha.
