Forward Madison FC fans will soon have a new beer to try on match days and at local bars around Madison. The soccer club announced a partnership with locally-based Vintage Brewing Company on Wednesday, which will include the creation of a team-themed beer.
As part of the deal, a portion of proceeds from all sales of Forward’s new beer will be donated to the Flock Soccer Fund, which works with local groups to provide opportunities to play soccer in underserved communities.
"We are happy to join forces with such an enthusiastic group of people who are making an incredible difference in our community,” Angelique Thompson, Director of Sales at Vintage Brewing Co., said. “Great beer paired with great people is the perfect recipe for a successful fundraiser."
According to Andrew Schmidt, President of The Flock, the new beer merges some of the best elements of Madison.
"The only way to improve the duo of soccer and beer is combining the two for a great cause,” Schmidt said. “We're proud to partner with our neighbors at Vintage Brewing Company, who will be donating a portion of proceeds to The Flock Soccer Fund, which provides opportunities for people who otherwise might not be able to play the game."
Forward Madison and Vintage Brewing's first event as official partners will take place Thursday, March 5 at 6:30 p.m., when the Flamingos will unveil a major sporting agreement at Vintage's Capitol East location.
